Anna May Henry

Anna (she/her) works with printed multiples, ceramics and digital drawings to canonize everyday foods and familiar objects, investigating our relationships with place, class and memory. With honesty and wit, she relates through her work a dissatisfaction with the shortcomings of a precarious and inequitable labor market, the personal struggle of adult life in the 21st century, and the ongoing search for belonging, healing and self love in the midst.

Testimonials

Art for me is a way to parse my lived experience into something manageable, and hopefully something helpful and funny. I make work that makes me happy, and that will hopefully make others happy too!

Steph Kenzie

Because much of my work is rooted in my experience of growing up below the poverty line and how it has shaped my identity, my artwork is a way for me to heal childhood trauma through awareness, acceptance and self love while finding a belonging in a community of others who are on a similar path.
